The students and faculties will assist Jus Dicere’s Governing & Editorial Team, with a focus on creating insightful learning content for legal fraternity. It is an excellent opportunity for anyone in the initial stage of their career with an interest in research and writing and wants to gain working experience.

This is a virtual project. The student and faculty can be based anywhere in the world with a good internet connection. The exact working hours can be flexible, but a candidate should be available to work a minimum 15 hours a week.

Current Openings

Main tasks

  • Assisting Governing Body & Editorial Team in planning subject curriculum & designing project.
  • Editing research content and notes on various legal issues.
  • Proofreading the content created by student researcher team.
  • Verifying research on issues related to various subjects of Law;
  • Preparing and drafting background notes and briefs;
  • Managing, organizing and maintaining an internal database of content;
  • Carrying out organizational and administrative tasks to support research needs.

Main requirements

  • Strong research and writing skills on legal issues;
  • An interest in both doctrinal and non-doctrinal modes of research
  • Ability to independently conduct complex legal issues and present research findings in an organized and methodical manner. High level of attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Proficiency in handling substantial amounts of research of data. Organized and methodical data management, updating and storage;
  • Good knowledge of citation methods;
  • Participation or authorship in one or more legal publications, preferably in quality journals;
  • Preference will be given to candidates currently working as Teaching Assistant, Assistant Professor or Professor at recognized Law School.

Main tasks

  • Assisting Faculty Research in conducting research on legal topics.
  • Writing research content and notes on various legal issues.
  • Conducting desktop research on other issues related to various subjects of Law;
  • Assisting Editorial Team in editing and proofreading research products;
  • Managing, organizing and maintaining an internal database;
  • Carrying out organizational and administrative tasks to support research needs.

Main requirements

  • Strong research and writing skills on legal issues;
  • Ability to independently conduct complex legal issues and present research findings in an organized and methodical manner. High level of attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Proficiency in handling substantial amounts of research of data. Organized and methodical data management, updating and storage;
  • Good knowledge of citation methods;
  • Competency in working with partners: building and nurturing key relationships;
  • Good internet connection during the internship.
  • Previous experience in paid or non-paid legal research work;
  • Previous experience using research software (e.g. SCC Online, Manupatra);

  • Strict Adherence to deadlines and a willingness to learn and improve constantly- these are absolutely non-negotiable.

  • Preparing academic-related content requiring in-depth research skills. One will be asked to draft research modules, Research Papers, Drafts & other research content.
  • Engaged in working with the Content Creation Team at Jus Dicere.
  • Writing blogs on contemporary topics of law.

Main Requirement

  • Preparing Case Briefs of Landmark Judgements in the prescribed format provided to you. The brief has to be prepared by the writer and not taken by the judgment directly.
  • Engaged in working with the Content Creation Team at Jus Dicere.

  • This is a virtual working opportunity;
  • The student and faculty will be responsible for their internet connection during the duration;
  • The student and faculty will be expected to work from their current location;
  • Due recognition in publications, books and activities which the student and faculty has contributed.
  • Exceptional students will be recommended for internship opportunity at Tier 1 Firms.

Six (6) months (01 January 2018 – 30 June 2019)

Selection Process

  • Stage 1 – Application : Candidates should submit their application via email before the deadline (15 December 2018)
  • Stage 2 – Short listing : We expect to communicate our decision to shortlisted candidates on 17 December 2018. Only the selected applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application at that time. If you have not been contacted by 18 December 2018, you have not been selected for the position. Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to all applications for these openings.
  • Stage 3 – Written task : Upon notification, shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a written task and to deliver it by 21 December 2018. Results of the assessment of the written task will be delivered to the candidates by 25 December 2018.
  • Stage 4 – Offer : If you’re the best person for the role and we’re happy with everything so far, the next step is an offer for the role.
