In Babri mosque demolition case, the bench comprising of Justice PC Ghose and RF Nariman asked CBI, LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and others in the case as accused to file their written submissions by April 6. After the charges against LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti (Union Minister) were dropped by the lower courts, the Apex Court is yet to decide whether the conspiracy charges are to be revived against them. The case has been adjourned by the Supreme Court. Senior Advocate appearing for the BJP leaders sought permission for appearing before another bench for part heard matter. Yesterday, due to absence of Justice Nariman the case was adjourned for today by Justice PC Ghose. The dropping of conspiracy charges were filed by the CBI and Ahmad. On March 6, the Apex Court decided to examine the appeal against dropping of conspiracy charges. And came up with the opinion of joint trial arising out of two lodged FIR’s. It was opposed by the counsel on th grounds that they were two different sets of accused and trials were at two different places i.e Raebareli and Lucknow. The court had also observed that ‘something is peculiar about this case’ and that the CBI order exonerating Advani and others was not correct.
